Here's to New Beginnings.

Greetings friends! I'd like to welcome you all to my new blog, and give you a little bit of insight into what on Earth I'm doing here.

For quite a while now I have been throwing around the idea of doing something more with my work. I enjoy both photography and writing, and thought that perhaps now is as good a time as any to actually do something with it.

With this blog, I would like to share my experiences by means of photography and written word. Through the years, I've learned that some photographs can be worth so much more than a thousand words. The image itself can convey a multitude of ideas and emotions in regards to what or who was photographed, or how the image was created, but I feel that often times the experience of how the photographer was affected by capturing the image, is rarely explored. Subjects are often brought back to a time and place when looking back on old pictures, but so do those people behind the camera.

I would also like this blog to be an avenue to create a place for the development of a community of like-minded individuals to share their own experiences and discuss the things that they enjoy. I know that I am not alone in my feelings for nature, photography, and the pleasure with working with others on projects, so I hope that this can be a way that others can come together.

In time, I hope that readers can come to a better understanding of who I am, but I would like to go ahead and share a little bit about myself. I am a 28 year-old photographer that loves and respects nature (I know, how many times have you heard that one!). I have done quite a bit of traveling, and don't plan on quitting anytime soon. I had previously not done a lot of work with subjects, but after having the experience of working in the school photography industry, I learned that I really enjoy working with others. Photographing nature and the outdoors is absolutely rewarding and therapeutic, but being able to capture personal moments for other people to enjoy for a lifetime is, to me, one of the most beautiful accomplishments.

So, I hope that this entry finds you well, and that this Monday is a happy one. Here's to new beginnings!
